“Then all hell broke loose, and I ended up in the ER,” she said, noting that she received a new diagnosis of PVOD, or pulmonary veno-occlusive disease, adding that she fell into a four-day coma and was on life support for three weeks.

“It was life or death in the biggest way,” she said.

CHLOE’S STORY

Chloe Temtchine is an Award-Winning Singer, Songwriter, Speaker, and the creator of “Super Brave,” an interview series that features both kids and adults who are living with a chronic illness.

Chloe was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness (Pulmonary Hypertension/PVOD) and survived on oxygen for years despite the fact that she was given little time to live. Twelve years later, Chloe went into cardiac arrest, ended up in a coma for four days and on life support, when she received a life-saving, double-lung transplant.

As a singer and songwriter, she has received several awards including the Avon Award for "Best Song,” presented to her by Fergie. Her song “Be Brave” was downloaded over 150,000 times within the first 90 days of its release. As a speaker, she has worked with many worldwide companies and organizations, such as Johnson and Johnson and Transplants For Kids, motivating teams and individuals alike by sharing her inspiring story and passing on her powerful message of hope, all with her singular sense of humor.

Chloe has always been a motivating force to anyone who has known her; struggling to stay alive for 12 years only sharpened her perspective, understanding, and compassion. She now focuses her efforts on helping those who are facing the most difficult of challenges. She started Super Brave Kids as a platform that would allow her to empower children to see beyond their obstacles and to, in turn, use their own stories and the lessons they’ve learned in an effort to inspire others.

She founded The Chloe Temtchine Foundation (TCTF), a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering people living with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) and other life-threatening illnesses, through entertainment.

Fluent in French, Spanish, and English, Chloe has always been a consummate communicator. When it comes to expressing herself, she doesn’t hold back. She created "The Oxygen Sisters" alter egos that allow her to convey the lessons she's learned about life empowering others in a more comedic and fun way.

Chloe, who sings with a paralyzed vocal cord, is widely regarded by her peers in the music industry. She has written with numerous, Grammy-Award-winning songwriters such as Toby Gad (John Legend, Beyonce…), Guy Roche (Christina Aguilera…), and Sasha Skarbek (James Blunt..), to name a few. Her insights have been featured in innumerable news outlets such as The Huffington Post, The New York Post, USA Today, and Fox 5, and she has appeared on TV shows such as The Doctors, Late Night with David Letterman, and Hallmark's Home & Family.

As a speaker and performer, Chloe is on a mission to use her music and story to help those in need of finding hope, motivation, and inspiration and to continue to bring awareness to Pulmonary Hypertension and, now, to the importance of organ donation.

Knowing firsthand what it feels like to truly be alive and to thrive despite Herculean challenges, Chloe believes that a combination of perspective, gratitude, trust, never losing one’s sense of humor, and putting in the actual work is a magical formula when it comes to taking one’s power back.

A sought-after motivational speaker/performer, she has been retained by worldwide brands, multinational pharmaceutical companies, and regularly performs at private “invitation-only” events.

I created Super Brave Kids because I believe that children, who are living with chronic health conditions, have the answers to some of life’s most difficult questions, which is why I call our series of interviews: “Life Lessons From Super Kids.” Join us as we interview kids from all over the world who have one thing in common: They are all superheroes disguised as kids.
